Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Administrator is responsible for supporting the Credit Analysts & Credit Manager on various administrative tasks.  The Admin will identify process improvement needs and make recommendations to implement.  He/she should demonstrate independent initiative and possess the ability to succeed in a deadline intensive, fast-paced environment.

This position will be joining the Thomson team in Marengo, IL.  Thomson is part of Altra (AIMC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Credit review preparation - Compile support documentation & scan for Credit Analyst review
  • Domestic intercompany invoice adjustments
  • International affiliate statement distribution
  • Daily credit card invoice verification and emailing
  • Maintain tax certificates required – Review sales registers; monthly reporting to Tax Accountant
  • Follow up on unauthorized payment deductions as assigned
  • Investigate reason for debit taken - work towards resolution
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Department
  • Process credit memos; scanning support to Oracle as assigned
  • Quarterly unclaimed property reporting and credit card report for Tax Accountant
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma required
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and procedures required
  • 2 years accounts receivable experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Oracle experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi tasking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, solid Excel and Word skills, Oracle knowledge is a plus

This position has a significant impact on Thomson's working capital and directly affects the cash flow of the company.  The performance of this associate can positively impact Thomson's overall image due to the interactions involved with customers, other divisions, etc.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Internal: Shared Services Manager of Credit & Payroll, Credit Analysts, Controllers, Tax Accountant, and Customer Service
  • External: Customers, Distributors
