Job Description

SUMMARY:

Based in France, the Area Sales Manager directs business efforts in the French territory as well as in other specified regions and accounts. S/he has complete ownership of the sales process in the assigned region, from lead generation to closing of the business, including local marketing activities, business development, funnel management, managing key accounts as well as channel partners, and developing, in collaboration with management, the long term strategy for the assigned territory. The Area Sales Manager creates and implements sales strategies, as well as manage Key Accounts and New Opportunities Funnel that will result in an increase in Portescap product sales and market penetration/expansion within the designated accounts and/or regions.  The position involves traveling to visit customers and internal Portescap facilities (50%).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing strong relationships with Key Accounts based in assigned territory with target to maintain and grow share of wallet
  • Responsible for sales activities for customers based on assigned territories, including but not limited to account management, product presentation and support, price and contract negotiation, support communication between customer and internal organization
  • Create, maintain and execute sales strategy to increase market penetration and grow sales in assigned territory
  • Support local marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and expand reach to prospect customers, introduce new product lines to customers
  • Responsible for new client acquisition by developing and managing prospect business leads
  • Complete VOC (Voice of the Customer) with customers to feed marketing and new product development roadmaps
  • Manage business relationship with local distribution channels
  • Work in close collaboration with the inside sales team (Application Engineer, Customer Service) but also with wide array of functions (Marketing, Business Development, Product Line Manager, R&D, Operation/Planning, Finance)

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in front-line sales of technical product (motion control industry preferred)
  • Native French speaker and fluent in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously from home, willingness to travel (50%) within the designated markets and production facilities
  • Mind for identifying new business opportunities, great intercultural skills combined with a diplomatic way of negotiating and closing business deals
  • Ability to interface on a technical level with customers and to engage at all levels of a customer organization, understanding of when and why to engage at the various levels
  • Ability to manage a complex sales process that involves technical product selling and advance project funnel to generate incremental revenue
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Powerpoint, Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with using CRM software (Salesforce or equivalent)
