Job Description

Assembles parts to form complete units or sub-assemblies at a workstation, multiple workstations or other assigned location.  Utilizes hand tools, small power tools and other specialized equipment to perform assigned job. Reassembles or reworks units as required.  Does basic preventative maintenance on assembly equipment.  May be required to move materials using hand trucks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (necessary competencies):

Duties may include but are not limited to:

Ability to read from blue prints and work instructions

Required to perform set-up and operations for all listed below:

Burnish

Drilling required for assembly

Press assembly

Paint

Manual assembly

Parts washing and wash tank start-up procedures

Magnetize

Encapsulation

Wire termination

Electrical checks

Soldering

Basic inspection/auditing

Material handling

Maintain Production Records

Adheres to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to department supervisor

Apply, recommend, and follow Lean practices

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented, understand the proper use of common tools and measuring devices which may include but not limited to test fixtures, calipers, gages, etc., have the ability to build complex assemblies and must have the ability and willingness to train others. 

Education and Experience Requirements:           

High School education or equivalent, preferred

Preferred experience with manufacturing assembly or similar processes.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
