Job Description



This position is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction with on time delivery requirements by providing assembly operations per standard work procedures and within the required tact time. Performs assembly or non-cnc operations according to Standard Work Documentation, Manufacturing Instructions and Quality Plans in the cell. Sets up, operates and maintains machines, tools, and equipment as needed to complete operations. Performs duties of similar complexity as assigned by the Production Leader or Supervisor. Communicates essential information to the Cell Leader, Production Leader or Supervisor as required. Adheres to all health and safety regulations including 5S responsibilities.  This position will be supporting the Thomson Linear team in Marengo, IL.  Thomson is part of Altra.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must exhibit the ability to read and follow work instructions or follow verbal instructions to perform the required job operations according to the Manufacturing Instructions, Quality Plans, and Safety Policies and Procedures.

Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of work situations

Must be able to make basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must also be able to work with whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS:


Soldering experience.
Good planning, organizing and communications skills.
Strong team skills and the ability to handle the demands of multiple priorities.
Good reading and comprehension.
Flexibility and reliability, including good focus and attendance.
The ability to work long periods standing up; lift and manipulate heavy loads (up to 60 lbs);
Twist, turn, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and walk repetitively; and work with oils, coolants and lubricants.
