Job Description

As a Composites Operator, you’ll be working with a specialized product line that involves the preparation and production processes of creating fiberglass products. In this role, the Composites Operator should be able to work independently when running parts and setting up composite machines in a manufacturing environment and exercises excellent judgement regarding safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safe set-up and operation of composite equipment tied to quality, cost and delivery
  • Independently sets up and operates machine in cell
  • Inspects own parts, including complex parts
  • Use of special tools
  • Oversee proper daily maintenance of all assigned equipment
  • Report any product or equipment concerns to appropriate person
  • Maintain proper relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and outside contacts
  • Perform and record in-process inspections as required
  • Perform other duties and assist in other areas as needed

Job Requirements

Critical Competencies

  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedure manuals and government regulations.
  • Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and business correspondences. Able to communicate well with other employees.
  • Ability to read blueprints and gauges.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must exhibit common sense ability to carry out functions in written, oral, or diagram form and ability to deal with problems involving abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Required
  • General working knowledge of Fiberglass products preferred
