SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Shared Services Manager, Credit & Payroll, the Credit Analyst is responsible for managing customer accounts to minimize past due, DSO and determine credit worthiness. Strong emphasis on analytical reporting to reduce allowance in doubtful receivables and sales credits. Preparation of root cause analysis for sales deductions and facilitate countermeasures. Detailed credit review on new and existing customers, make sound recommendations on credit lines. Identify process improvement needs making recommendations to implement. Demonstrate independent initiative and possess the ability to succeed in deadline intensive, fast pace environment.

Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage credit & collections on customer accounts in specifically assigned A/R Aging(s) - proactively minimize DSO.
  • Provide management with analytical reporting to determine allowance for doubtful receivables and sales credits.
  • Evaluate root cause of unauthorized deductions; facilitate countermeasures to minimize allowance.
  • Analyze D & B reports, trade references, payment trends to make recommendation on credit limits.
  • Daily management of orders on credit hold.
  • Deliver monthly cash collection forecasts and collection variance.
  • Month end reporting requirements - work closely with Manager on all month end processes.
  • Proactively implement process improvements.
  • Follow internal and SOX controls that are in place.
  • This position has a significant impact on Thomson's working capital and directly affects the cash flow of the company.
  • The performance of this associate can positively impact Thomson's overall image due to the interactions involved with customers, other divisions, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma along with a working knowledge of accounting systems and procedures.
  • Minimum 5 years commercial collection experience - 2 years preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong credit evaluation and deduction management skills.
  • Enhanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong Excel and Word skills, Oracle knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities as part of a remote team
