Job Description
The Drafter will create CAD drawings for new product configurations, detail the components and make proper updates to current 3D drawings. This role will also maintain CAD models and work with production operations to facilitate needs and create bills of materials. He or she will create designs and conduct product analysis of products and communicates with customers about their needs and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and revise 2D and 3D drawings and perform layout design for new and existing products.
- Prepare product related technical documentation.
- Sketch proposal drawings, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
- Draw rough layout of products and compute angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and locations of holes.
- Utilize knowledge of various products, engineering practices, mathematics, metals and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Update drafting and engineering standards
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for production drawings.
- Communicate with purchasing, quality, engineering, and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.

Job Requirements
Critical Competencies
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Working knowledge of Solidworks or another CAD software.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a drafting role.
