Job Description

The Salesforce Administrator will manage Kollmorgen’s Salesforce instance, continuously improving the efficiency of sales and marketing organizations globally. As the steward of data quality and business processes, the ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, and fastidiously create and preserve global governance standards (i.e. configurations, definitions, rules, design rationales) breaking down silos across diverse user groups. The Salesforce Administrator must be gifted at prioritizing requests from multiple stakeholders and delivering on commitments.

This role will contribute insight and expertise in support of day-to-day sales and marketing operations, and manage ongoing user training programs and materials. The Salesforce Administrator will develop and manage a process for taking in project requests, prioritizing and scoping these, developing solutions (in partnership with applications development team, when systems integrations and custom applications development is required), and delivering to customer commitments. The Salesforce Administrator will proactively define a road map and lead implementation of initiatives that drive greater efficiency and effectiveness through each stage of the sales cycle – from lead generation, to opportunity creation and management, to final sales and customer retention.

The Salesforce Administrator will build strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, and Finance teams globally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide timely, enthusiastic support to users.
  2. Create training programs and related materials (tip sheets, FAQ videos, troubleshooting guides, etc.), in partnership with global “super users” to guide new and existing Kollmorgen associates on how to use SFDC applications. Issue proactive communications to keep users informed about new system functionality and enhancements, best practices, standard definitions and governance.
  3. Create and maintain views, reports, dashboards, campaigns and other objects and functions. Create custom reports when necessary. Test regularly for data integrity.
  4. Create, maintain, and enhance lead assignment rules. Partner with IT application development team in the creation and modification of workflow and validation rules, as well as other functions and configurations within the environment.
  5. Manage on-going customization/alteration of, working with IT.
  6. Provide guidance and support for data loads and mass updates by teams globally.
  7. Support seamless integrations with sales, marketing, finance and other business processes and across external applications.
  8. Keep abreast of new Salesforce features, functionality, connectors and integrations through routine participation in forums. Prioritize initiatives that maximize sales and marketing effectiveness. Partner with IT application development team in managing new releases of SFDC and efficiently rolling out new features.
  9. Manage SFDC global governance standards and proactively drive conformance among user groups globally. Foster ongoing global collaboration through the establishment of a Kollmorgen Salesforce Global Governance Council.
  10. Maintain system and data security enforcing least access privileges for users and records.


Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Salesforce administrator experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a sales, marketing, or finance-focused role within a B-to-B company
  • Advanced analytical and Excel skills; proven ability to collect, concatenate and analyze large data sets and provide succinct summaries and conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities. Solid project management skills and track record of on-time delivery
  • Excellent organizational skills with heavy attention to details
  • Strong systems thinking; the ability to think strategically and conceptually. A curiosity about the “why” and a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient with AppExchange and commonly used Salesforce Apps
  • Salesforce Administrator & Salesforce Platform Developer I (PDI) Certification a plus
  • Availability to travel as needed up to 10%
