We are growing and looking to for HR-Finance Administrator to support the day-to-day activities within the Human Resources function. Some of the responsibilities will be recruiting, onboarding, events, and employee inquiries.
They will also be responsible for daily accounting duties, month end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost accounting duties for specific segments of the business.

This position is located in East Aurora, NY and is part of the Thomson Division.  Thomson is part of Altra (AIMC). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate hourly recruiting activities which includes communication with Temp agencies, maintain/update employee hours, and schedule interviews
  • Assist in coordinating various activities such as onboarding, training, events, meetings, community support, etc.
  • Prepare new hire/orientation packets
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and manage physical associate files
  • Process periodic reports & associated administrative tasks-i.e., filing, communication posting etc.
  • Assist with the maintenance of personnel/training records as needed
  • Perform Daily and annual costing functions
  • Prepare & record monthly journal entries & statistical data
  • Assist with the monthly close process
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Track and assist with the capital procurement process
  • Maintain adequacy of internal control structure to ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance

Expected Outcomes

  • Data in HR/Finance systems are accurate, complete, and up to date
  • Compliance requirements, filing, record keeping, and reconciliations are up to date

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field required
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting/HR experience required, manufacturing or public accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with an ERP system; Oracle preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage deadlines
  • Basic understanding of key elements of employment laws and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
