Job Description

NAME OF THE PETITIONER :  Thomson Linear, LLC (Altra Industrial)

 JOB TITLE:  Manufacturing Engineer

WORKSITE: 1300 N. State Street, Marengo, IL 60152

ANNUAL SALARY: $ 119746.00 per year

NUMBER OF HOURS/WEEK:            40 Hours per week, Mon- Fri

JOB DUTIES: Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, trouble shoot and resolve quality issue, and provide technical information. Improve quality by developing automated test data collection plan to enable robust root-cause analysis. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports along with customer and industry specifications. Expert in CNC programming to meet print tolerance, all specifications, and efficiencies in machining. Develop the entire manufacturing process: material selection, material treatments, work-holding, machining, finishing processes, etc. Develop standard work documents which drive the manufacturing process: drawings, models, assemblies, etc. Maintain proper documentation (traceability, customer requirements) and complete production routers. Utilize problem solving skills to an engineering position. Perform root-cause analysis and develop solutions. Perform manufacturing analysis on orders. Drive production efficiencies through the Amper system to increase productivity gains at CNC cells. Drive tool cost reductions.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or its foreign educational equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or related field. 2 years experience in similar position. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 2 years experience in designing automated test systems, working knowledge of pneumatics, motors (AC, DC), Printed Circuit Boards, Load Cells, Experience at LabView and Amper. Working knowledge of Solidworks and Autocad design packages, Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and MS Access database.

ALTERNATE MINIMUM  REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or its foreign educational experience in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or related field. 5 years experience in  designing automated test systems, working knowledge of pneumatics, motors (AC, DC), Printed Circuit Boards, Load Cells, Experience at LabView and Amper. Working knowledge of Solidworks and Autocad design packages, Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and MS Access database.
