Job Description
As a Team Lead, you will have a direct impact on our safety, culture, workplace organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and inventory. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented, understand the proper use of common tools and measuring devices including but not limited to test fixtures, calipers, gages, etc., have the ability to build complex assemblies and must have the ability and willingness to train others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead all activities relating to production performance. Coordinate activities of production personnel and guide our people in their development
- Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas
- Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes along with the ability to read and follow process instructions
- Read and follow process instructions, use basic hand tools, read and interpret blueprints and drawings and lifting devices like a hoist or crane
- Set up and operate various press and other manufacturing equipment in order to produce final products along with a willingness to learn multiple roles and skills
- Must be willing to learn and become familiar and able to run all equipment in their area of responsibility
- Performs standard work, quality inspections and uses process controls methods to complete the manufacturing process
- Coordinate and actively support our local TB Wood’s team, Altra business unit and corporate management initiatives
- Perform other duties and assist in other areas as needed

Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous leadership and manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods
- Post-secondary education preferred
