Summary:          

Under the direction of the Production Manager, Supervisor provides leadership and manages all available resources to meet production need. The Supervisor will develop processes and controls to ensure continuous improvement in the areas of safety, workplace organization, internal and external quality, on time delivery, productivity and inventory. The Supervisor will actively participate in cross functional teams to ensure continuous improvement of processes, productivity and operations.

Responsibilities include providing hands-on leadership for improvement activities and maintenance of all performance indicators relative to the production

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:     

  • Lead all activities relating to production performance.
  • Continually improve safety record by enforcing safety regulations and addressing issues and employee safety behaviors. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
  • Maintain and keep records of employee attendance and hours worked.
  • Coach and coordinate activities with team leaders and associates and guide them in their development.
  • Actively support the implementation of Altra’s Business System/Lean manufacturing processes.
  • Read, analyze, develop, implement, and maintain charts, workorders, productions schedules, and others records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Support compliance to the Inertia Dynamics Management System and ISO9001:2019 requirements.
  • Develop standard work, quality inspections and use process control methods to complete the manufacturing process.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and stand most of the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree in engineering, sciences, business required. Four years’ additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of bachelors degree.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods
  • Minimum 3 year of leadership experience in dynamic environment
