Job Description

If you have an interest in direct customer involvement and have a technical aptitude with strong business acumen, Jacobs has the perfect role for you! You will be interfacing with Jacobs’ global customers and will build relationships with teams across our business platform. In this role, you will negotiate contracts and pricing, as well as showcase your ability to strategically forecast sales for your assigned customers.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage all commercial happenings with assigned accounts.
  • Negotiate and manage supply and distribution contracts, including pricing, lead time, and other commercial terms.
  • Perform cost and margin analysis to ensure desired profitability on all parts.
  • Manage product life cycle and obsolescence for legacy parts for assigned customers.
  • Support customers with product-related inquiries, including service part identification and technical troubleshooting.
  • Use mechanical drawings and blueprints to provide technical guidance to end-users.
  • Monitor competitive activity in the distribution network and work directly with appropriate parties, including business teams, to implement effective countermeasures.
  • Work with Engineering and Marketing to write and maintain accurate and timely technical literature for assigned customer products.

Job Requirements

The minimum requirements you must meet:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Business discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer service or support role, preferably within an automotive or industrial marketplace. 
  • 4 additional years of relevant commercial and/or technical experience in lieu of degree will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
