Job Description
Altra Industrial Motion is searching for a tax professional who desires to be an integral member of a U.S. based multi-national tax team. This position located at our Corporate Headquarters in Braintree, MA is a result of the continued growth of the company. This position provides the opportunity to be part of a direct role in managing the tax function of a U.S. multinational manufacturing corporation. You will be able to broaden your skills in this corporate tax function. Reporting to the head of the tax department, you will have direct mentoring in domestic aspects of a U.S. multinational manufacturer.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare domestic aspects of the federal income tax return including Forms 1120, 4562, and 4797
- Prepare/Review domestic state income tax returns
- Prepare quarterly and annual ASC740 analysis and documentation for the Worldwide Tax Provision
- Oversea the management of the tax book for Fixed Assets
- Liaison and manage domestic relationships with key business partners
- Manage tax audits (both Federal and State)
- Assist with acquisition due diligence, restructuring, and tax planning transactions
- Manage & Monitor ongoing domestic tax compliance
- Prepare and review tax account reconciliations
- Assist with computation of tax items of purchase accounting
- Prepare and review of various research and planning projects
- Support Global Tax changes or implementation solutions designed to automate and improve the tax functions at Altra

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
- 5+ years corporate tax experience
- Comprehensive understanding of ASC740 and FIN48
- Detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, able to work as a member of a team and independently in a fast-paced environment; manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to recognize tax implications of transactions and implement steps to minimize tax
- Desire and ability to provide coaching and mentoring to staff, contribute to the continuous development and success of our team
- Corptax, BNA fixed asset software, Tagetik, and OneSource Tax Provision experience preferred
- Willingness to travel
