Job Description

This position exists to support new product development, on-going process improvements, maintenance and repair of tooling, equipment and factory operations.


  • Team oriented and customer focused attitude.
  • Safely setup and operate manual Toolroom style mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drill presses and hand tools.
  • Safely setup and operate CNC controlled Toolroom equipment
  • Independently plan and perform sequence of operations to ensure quality and cost-effective production the first time within the given project timeline requirements.
  • Select or create appropriate tooling, fixtures and measuring equipment required for projects.
  • Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, written and verbal instructions
  • Adjust machines as needed and perform minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot to identify and communicate problems or concerns, bringing them to the attention of appropriate personnel.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular basis.
  • Assist with training new operators when needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Attend training classes as needed
  • Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.


Job Requirements


  • A High School diploma or GED equivalency is preferred from an accredited institution.


  • Five years’ work experience working in a Toolroom environment operating manual and CNC machines.
  • Prior machine set-up experience and the ability to demonstrate this on all equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)  

  • Toolroom level math, reading and writing skills
  • Select and use appropriate measuring devices for job assignments
  • Select, setup and operate appropriate equipment for job assignments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T and work instructions.
  • Determine appropriate cutting speeds and feeds for material and equipment
  • Design work holding fixtures for efficient and cost effective production of job assignments
  • Ability to use and accurately enter information into a computer.
  • Ability to inspect parts, visual acuity.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs., unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long period of time, minimum of 4 hours
  • Proficiency in English language skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends as required.
