The Engineering intern is a critical role for the organization, as our customer base has design and compliance requirements. The incumbent reports directly to the Manager. This position requires excellent communication skills as well as technical acumen.

This role will be joining the API Delevan team in East Aurora, NY.  API Delevan is part of Thomson Linear and Altra (AIMC).  

U.S. citizen or permanent resident status is required due to ITAR restrictions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned

  • Originate and maintain design and process documentation using team support
  • Communication with customers and raw material suppliers on requirements necessary
  • Review & understand customer requirements
  • Set up & operate various inspection, testing & measurement equipment
  • Support New Product Implementation and Lean Improvement activities
  • Communicate with multiple departments needed to fulfill requests
  • Document results of analysis and measurements performed for partial or finished goods
  • Preparation of customer reports and certificates of conformance
  • Support cross functional teams in compliance priorities and day to day operation, including preparation & maintenance of schedules to meet delivery for requirements
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate with production control and operations to obtain test parts and to ensure compliance with delivery needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

    • High School education or GED equivalent; Technical Associates Degree preferred
    • Experience with various test/lab equipment
    • Familiarity with ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System requirements a plus but not required
    • Must have experience with computers & be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Must have good eyesight and hand eye coordination
    • Internal candidates must have good disciplinary/attendance record
